Limestone epitaph of the Prussian poet and diplomat Daniel Hermann (1541 – 1601).
Hermann arrived in Riga before the Polish king Stephan Báthory on 1 March 1582, and stayed as a counselor and German secretary of Polish cardinal Jerzy Radziwiłł (1556–1600). From 1586 to 1600, Hermann was in the service of Jürgen (Georg, Jerzy) von Fahrensbach (1552–1602).
He married in Riga with Ursula Krieger (?-1601), also died and was buried in the Riga Cathedral. His poetic heritage The book Poemata was published posthumously. (1614—1615), by first printing-house of Riga Nicolaus Mollin (ca. 1550/1555—1625).
