The Epitaph is dedicated to perhaps the oldest resident of Riga, because according to the data indicated here it can be judged that she died at the age of 120. Here is what the text on the plaque, which is no longer legible, but redrawed by Johann Christoph Brotze (translated by Alexander Friedrich Neiland) says: “Stop, the runner of the world, and notices, the long-lived Magdalena von Reina, born in 1568. She has lived 79 years in two marriages with Paula Arenda and Hans Friden, widow of another 21 years, died on November 8, 1688 at the age of 120. Having seen 79 children and grandchildren, which King David calls wonderful, she experienced, go and prepare for a happy eternity”
