The cross is one of the central symbols in the Christian Church. It points to Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. The death of the cross of Christ gives man the remission of sins and the foundation of man’s relationship with God. The cross is a sign of hope for resurrection.
This rosette was made after bricking up a pointed arch in 1896. The quatrefoil center of the rosette bears an equilateral cross against a red background. The shape of the cross is supplemented with a wreath of thorns, ears of grain and lilies. Motif of vines has been used as an ornament on the outer part of the rosette.
